Crafted Trailwalker training in full swing
Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 9:15AM Last weekend, four of the Crafted team took part in The Orwell Walk, a 25 mile trek along the River Orwell to Felixstowe. Organised by the Rotary Club of Ipswich East, the challenge saw approximately 2,000 people participate to raise money for a charity of their choice.

With less than three weeks until Trailwalker - when eight Crafted employees will walk 100km in less than 30 hours – The Orwell Walk formed part of our intensive training program ahead of our upcoming epic challenge.
Despite the heavy rain, James, Ian, Dan and Barry completed the trek in a respectable 7.5 hours.
With the first Orwell Walk held in 1977, the event has raised more than £1.3million for (mainly) local causes over its lifetime. Walkers can choose from three routes (12 miles, 18 miles or 25 miles), making it accessible for all ability levels.
This year’s walk began at Gainsborough Sports Centre, before following the banks of the Orwell River towards Felixstowe and returning on an inland route through farmland and wooded sections.
The Orwell Walk is just one of a number of treks that Crafted has undertaken in preparation for Trailwalker. The upcoming 62m challenge across the South Downs will take place on 14 and 15 July, with all funds raised going to event organisers Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. All donations will help those in poverty to make better lives for themselves.
If you can help us reach our £3,000 goal, there’s still time to donate on our fundraising page, and sponsorship packages are also available.
